Deal of the Week has more choices, and buyers are still moving
Here is the number that matters most right now. The Real Estate Data Aggregator counted 1,031 new listings across Deal of the Week in the three months ending August 31, 2026. That is up 13.9% from the same three months in 2025. More fresh choices for buyers than we have seen in a while.
But here is the other side of that story. Pending sales rose 14.2% at the same time, to 837, according to the Real Estate Data Aggregator. So the new supply is being met with real demand. Homes are still getting picked up.
One thing working against buyers right now: rates. Freddie Mac put the average 30-year fixed rate at 7.40% as of October 8, 2026. That is the highest level in nearly three years, according to Realtor.com. It adds real cost to every offer.
More listings, but the total on the market is still down
New listings are up, but total homes for sale across Deal of the Week slipped 2.9% from a year ago. That tells you homes are moving off the market about as fast as they arrive. Buyers have more fresh options, but not a growing backlog to pick from.
How each ZIP code looked
The market reads differently depending on where you are. Here is a quick look at each ZIP code in the three months ending August 31, 2026, all from the Real Estate Data Aggregator.
The fastest ZIP: 92626
92626 stood out in the three months ending August 31, 2026. The Real Estate Data Aggregator counted just 2 months of supply there. Median days on market was 38. And 40.5% of homes went under contract within two weeks of listing. That is the highest quick-contract share of any ZIP in this market.
The most active ZIP: 92620
92620 had the most sales volume. The Real Estate Data Aggregator counted 98 homes sold there, up 15.3% from a year ago. Pending sales jumped 23.7%. New listings rose 21.7%. Median days on market fell 11 days shorter than last year, to 44 days. That ZIP is busy.
Rates are real, and the job picture is mixed
Freddie Mac reported a 15-year fixed rate of 6.73% as of October 8, 2026. The 30-year sits at 7.40%. Those numbers slow some buyers down. On the jobs side, the U.S. added 29,000 jobs in September, below the three-month average of 51,000 a month, according to data cited by Redfin as of October 2, 2026. The unemployment rate was 4.2%. Not alarming, but worth watching.
Nationally, Realtor.com reported active listings up 6.7% from a year ago as of October 8, 2026, the fastest pace since February. The median listing price nationally fell 2.4%, marking 38 straight weeks of year-over-year declines. Deal of the Week is its own story, but the national backdrop shapes what buyers can afford.
A few things to keep in mind
